A Journey Though Consciousness

We will fully prepare you in the best way possible for this journey. Part of that will include breathwork and mindset training that will help you maximize the value of your experience, both during the ceremony and throughout our travels.

No previous background is required to work with Huachuma. For many, it serves as a gentle yet powerful introduction to the world of sacred plant work or spiritual retreats, particularly when offered within a safe, intentional ceremonial setting. Although the medicine carries great depth, its effects are often spacious, clarifying, and supportive of staying present and embodied throughout the journey.

Unlike certain other sacred plants that may feel overwhelming or disorienting to newcomers, Huachuma has a reputation for meeting participants with compassion and accessibility. Approached with honesty, humility, and thoughtful preparation, it can open the door to profound realizations without demanding prior psychedelic experience. Still, the practice calls for reverence, a clear intention, and openness to whatever arises. For those beginning this path, guidance in both preparation and integration is especially valuable.

We meet in Chiclayo on May 29, no later than noon.

The best option is to fly from Lima that same morning, arriving around 11:15 AM. Direct flights LIM → CIX take about 1:15-1:40, approx. $50. Fly Latam Airlines.

We conclude the journey in Huaraz on June 7. From there your path is your own. We recommend staying longer in the Cordillera Blanca or flying to Cusco to continue exploring, or fly back to Lima and back home.

We highly recommend staying in Miraflores when in Lima to explore the coastal trails and restaurants.

The pilgrimage includes some hiking, but it’s not intended to be overly strenuous or out of reach. You can expect a blend of travel, mindful walking, immersion in natural settings, and the effects of higher-altitude environments. Certain ceremonial sites may involve short hikes or longer periods outdoors, sometimes in direct sun, wind, or varied terrain. However, this is not a backpacking expedition or an endurance challenge.

While peak fitness isn’t required, it’s helpful to be in overall good health and at ease with walking on uneven ground and spending extended time outside. The pace of the journey is kept thoughtful, with intentional breaks and integration woven throughout. If you have particular health needs or concerns, we encourage connecting with us ahead of time to make sure this path aligns well for you. 

We will be staying at local hotels with a local and authentic feel. None of the locations will feel touristy at all, and with that comes a general comfort that isn't too fancy but isn't lacking in amenities or ambiance either. Rooms are typically double occupancy, which means you will be staying with another person in the group if you are coming alone. We do offer single rooms for an additional $500 covering the entire journey. 

Huachuma, can be a life-changing experience because of it's ability to move us out of our heads and into our hearts, indefinitely.

It is more widely recognized as San Pedro, is a sacred cactus native to the Andes that has been part of traditional ceremonies for more than three millennia. It contains mescaline, the same naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in Peyote, and is often associated with experiences of clarity, heart expansion, and deep grounding in a unified field of consciousness. While very powerful, it is not overwhelming. 

Huachuma is one of those things you really want to do if you are into energy, energy medicine, connecting to source, or cultivating heart energy; because it will magnify those abilities substantially.

Unlike many other plant medicines, Huachuma is traditionally taken during the day, allowing participants to fully engage with both their inner world and the surrounding landscape. Its effects usually last between 8 and 12 hours, offering a generous window for healing, contemplation, and spiritual connection.

Working with Huachuma is legal in Peru and has been used in ceremonial and healing traditions for thousands of years. The journey is held in full respect of local culture and ancestral lineages.

Yes. Kind of, if we have enough time. If for whatever reason you cannot make the trip you can cancel but that must be requested 3 months in advance. After that there are no refunds for cancellations.
